MY SELF AND MY GOALS

Hello, welcome to my blog I am Olga Vila Christopher and I am 22 years old. In this year I am in semester five in course of Bachelor Early Childhood Education. I really love children and I really have high desire to learn and teach children because for myself children are precious and adorable. I have set my goals to teach in any kindergarten or preschool to learn about children life and support they learning to build they skills so they can apply  it in they real life. People say working with children is hard but that its only depend from self. Working with children need a lot of patience and courage that why this field of work is not easy. Assessment in education will help myself to know how to assess children development using different method that appropriate with they ability in learning. In addition, with this subject I will earn various knowledge that I can apply it on real situation when teaching children because its important knowledge when teach and learning with young children.

MY PHILOSOPHY

My teaching philosophy is to create interesting and attractive teaching and learning to enhance children development in cognitive, social, physical, and spiritual skills. In teaching I want to create learning environment that will attract children to have high desire in they learning progress. Setting up the appropriate environment when teaching such as tone when teaching, types of activity, materials, and space of children learning will give positive effect in they learning. In this appropriate teaching environment will produce concrete understand towards children and will produce meaningful learning that they can apply it they real life. The valuable knowledge that I gain from learning assessment in education will give myself understanding and skills to practice it when teaching children.  

MY REFLECTION

REFLECTION 1
The first week of our lectures we was introduced about this course to know the requirement that needed in this course. lecture in this time also focuses on the learning objectives and learning outcomes that learner will gain in this course. In this introduction we were able to knew and understand what matter that will will learn in this course. In this lecture time i was be able to identify that the most important element in educational assessment were test, evaluation, and also measurement to apply in process of collect date for young children learning. Lecture also asked us to do activity 1 which was to create poster about our experience time in our own educational and do gallery walk because in this lecture class there was many students from different course and through this activity will help us to know with each other. and The important and valuable information that i learned along this course will help me to shape my skills and knowledge to adapt it in my real learning and teaching young children to used appropriate methods in assist young children development. 

REFLECTION 2 
This week we were learned about the topic 2 'The instructional goals and objectives'. The main point in this topic was convey instructional into others, provide basic for student assessment, and provide direction for instructional. Through this topic goal and objectives should have characteristics such as stated specific and also build lessons and assessment that prove to meet the overall course or lesson goals. This topic was set up to assist our self to build our own philosophy to produces outcomes that productive and innovative. This week we also asked to create appropriate questions for young children to assist they through the questions. This activity were give us foundation skills and knowledge to do suitable questions for young children in follow the ages and ability. 

REFLECTION 3 
In this lessons for this week, we were covered the topic 3 which was the reliability and validity. In this topic what I have understood was reliability and validity was related to each other in assessment for young children. In the requirement of the test to be valid or accepted it should has to be realiable or proven. This is the lessons that i had learned in this week. 


REFLECTION 4
This week we were taught about the planning classroom assessment. This topic had open my mind to know the way to do appropriate test to assist young children development in what they had learned. Test that given to young children should has the elements of methods used, test and theior development, observational techniques, questionnaire, and also types of test. This element should be consider in do test for young children to successfully meet with the goals and objectives.

REFLECTION 5
This week I had learned the topic 5 which was the objectives and structured. This topic was about the types of assessment which was formative and summative. Formative assessment was given while lessons still in progress meanwhile summative assessment is given after taught of several topic. In my opinion, i prefer to use formative assessment because this formative assessment will given after several topic which was young children has learned the subject and do the assessment after they learning. This will help young children to practice and identify the questions setting to give they early practice to answer questions.
